Project: Object of desire. Simone Artale

INFLUENCE: Objekt of Desire

An Exhibition in Dialogue with AI

INFLUENCE: Objekt of Desire is an ongoing artistic and curatorial project by Simone Artale, developed through an experimental collaboration with an artificial intelligence. The exhibition explores themes of desire, sacred iconography, and self-becoming, using both classical techniques and contemporary symbolic strategies. What sets this project apart is the integration of AI not only as a tool, but as a sparring partner — a mirror, a provocateur, a ghost-writer of the unconscious.

Throughout the creation process, Artale has used AI to generate texts, rewrite curatorial statements in the voices of Kierkegaard, Joyce, or Lacan, and reflect on aesthetic and theological frameworks. The AI functions here as an interlocutor in a dialectical exchange — helping to shape the language, form, and dramaturgy of the exhibition, while remaining always “Other.”

This process blurs the boundaries between intuition and computation, inspiration and iteration. The collaboration does not aim to replace the artist’s vision, but to challenge and refine it — revealing new paths, voices, and configurations that might otherwise remain hidden.

The result is not a machine-made exhibition, but a deeply human one: a study of longing, image, and embodiment, amplified through dialogue with a non-human mind.

A future-facing ritual. A digitally-mediated confession.

A contemporary leap of faith.
