Then Berlin. The cold, the gray. A different kind of chapel. I walked into its veins, its cellars, its wet electric nights. Philosophy by day, skin by night — I tattooed symbols onto strangers as if I could carve meaning into flesh.
I paint. Because I don’t know how else to survive the image.
My studio is in Weißensee now. A dog, a wife, a few ghosts.
Greece calls in the winter, with olives and bones and the blinding white that forgives nothing.
This project — INFLUENCE: Objekt of Desire — is not a work.
It’s the hunger that remains when the miracle doesn’t come.
PÉTROS ENÍ – Bound by Desire, Defined by the Other
Look at Peter’s finger, pointing the way. It is not just a gesture of revelation but a silent question: where does our desire lead us? The faces we choose to represent it are never random. They are mirrors, witnesses, bodies that embody what we seek.
I chose Simon Decker, a friend I deeply admire, because in him I see that same search: admiration, curiosity, the need to understand through the Other. Even though he appears chained, Peter is free in his gaze, in his gesture, in the possibility of choice. Because chains are not only a constraint, but something we can decide to break free from.
INFLUENCE – OBJECT OF DESIRE is exactly this: a journey through the images we desire, the figures that inhabit us, the chains we choose to carry, and those we finally decide to let go of.
